Assignment was to design a poster based off of an assigned designer, in an 11' X 17' FORMAT, AND TO MAKE THE POSTER AS APPEALING AS POSSIBLE, WHILE ALSO STAYING TRUE TO THE DESIGNER IN THEIR STYLE.
i WAS ASSIGNED TO MASSIMO VIGNELLI, A DESIGNER MOST FAMOUS FOR HIS DESIGN OF THE ORIGINAL NEW YORK CITY METRO MAP TUNNELS. HIS TUNNEL MAPS WERE IN THE FORM OF HARD 45° angles, and horizontal and vertical angles.
my final product is meant to
be a recreation of those same
maps, with the metro lines representing different creations of vignelli's life, while the parks and city highlights are places he's lived, and awards
that he has won.
